Progtastic

Latest vinyl and brand new album by - San Diego maestros ASTRA  who craft expansive suites that hearken back to the original root of mind-expanding, unrestrained and genuinely progressive rock. Rich with hallucinogenic and hypnotic promise, and slathered in layers of vintage, billowing instrumentation, the band's stunning sophomore album, The Black Chord, expertly evokes the spirit, tone and vision of '70s cosmic prog, the artworks not bad either! TREES live album now arrived too!

Charts with some relevance

Some like charts others have no interest, but whatever your stance on this there has been some good work going on to include Independent stores in the equation.
So if you want a peek at whats going up or down we have included a link for you to see for yourself.  http://www.officialcharts.com/record-store-albums-chart/
Sales are collected for the charts from all significant retailers.
These retailers span independent stores, high street chains, supermarkets, internet mail order and download services. As a result, it is estimated that  around  99% of all singles sold, 98% of all albums and over 90% of all videos/DVDs are captured, enabling the compliation of these charts.
If  you visit the site you will find all you need to know about the new charts.

The Wicker Man update

The limited edition coloured vinyl release out on July 9th is now completely sold out at source. We have been fortunate enough to nab one more before they disappeared. Having already allocated the stock we had to reservations this now leaves one sitting in the racks. So if it is still of interest be quick. For those not too bothered about the collectable side of things we hear it will be coming out on Black vinyl pretty soon, but for the same price you could have a collectable. The choice is yours. We will not be stocking the Black vinyl unless any specific orders are received.

Wooden Shjips

Had to give last nights gig in Wrexham a mention, the Wooden Shjips were in mind blowing form. Also great to see that all four members mixing with the fans at the end and were only to happy to sign anything put there way and chat freely. If only more bands were that acessable. Organisers the Rope club deserve all the credit along with Central Station for putting on a night to remember here in North Wales. As many will already know we have been stocking the Wooden Shjips material for some time and we always aim to have their releases available for sale at any given time. For those after WEST on vinyl, if you didnt pick one up last night we should have the LP in our racks next week. Other releases already available instore on Vinyl and CD.

Force Majuere

Will remember to chose words more wisely after the last Blog. On arrival at the shop this morning it became instantly apparent that opening up was not an option. Gas works directly in front of our door meant access to customers was at least abit perilous. The decision was taken immediately to close for the day, this being Independents day was not well timed by planners of the works. But no use griping about it, just got to dust ourselves off and move on. Happily the pipework in front of the shop is completed now and the rather large holes will be filled this afternoon. Tarmaccing is to take place by the Weeekend, so when we re open on Wednesday 11th July all should be good. To anyone who made the trip to the shop only to find in barriered off and closed we are very sorry for any incovenience, but we really had no choice. We have text a few and Tweeted and put it out on Facebook so hopefully you got the message before making the trip. Normality will be resumed next Wednesday and we have some cracking NEW vinyl arriving before then. Will let you know as soon as it lands.
