Light up Tuesday
BACK FROM TY PAWB
Another very enjoyable visit to Wrexham for our last Record Fair of the year, once again very well attended. This venue has proved to be an excellent addition to our Record Fair calendar, so much going on there throughout the year too so be sure to check it out if you havent been there before.
Christmas is getting closer,we will be open late this Tuesday night 26th November, 4pm till 8pm to celebrate the switch of the Town festive lights. LIGHT UP TUESDAY is something we have done since we opened back in 2009, few 'light refreshments'and nibbles and maybe some non cheesy Christmas music. After that BLACK FRIDAY, more on that by midweek...
So, finally a huge thank you for supporting our Record Fairs throughout the year...now its back to the shop. Record Fairs return at the end of February 2020.
Cheers-Colin

Biggest Fair? next Saturday 23rd. Nov.
Our last Record Fair of the year in Wrexham next week had us wondering, given there will be around 33 stalls at Ty Pawb on Saturday 23rd of November is this the biggest Record Fair in Wales? be interesting to know. The end of November is looking especially busy with our Record Fair,Light up Tuesday for Mold Christmas lights switch on and Black Friday.More info on Black Friday week after the Record Fair.

New venue for 2020 revealed
So, our new venue for 2020 is in Neston at the Civic Hall on Saturday 20th June where we will
have 28 stalls on the day. Neston is a Market town on the Wirral which is easily reached by road or rail,in fact just 11 minute ride on the Train from Shotton. It also has rail links to Wrexham,West Kirby,New Brighton and Liverpool with connection to Chester via Shotton.
Free parking located near the venue and this will be a Free entry event. There will be an onsite cafe but there are also plenty of places to eat and drink in Town with an excellent selection of Cafes, Bars and Restaurents.Parkgate and Ness Gardens are also close to the Town and well worth a visit, the Wirral way also runs through the town on the disused railway track (Willaston-West Kirby).More information nearer the time, its a great venue and we look forward to our first visit next Year.
*Please note this is not a move to more Fairs on the Wirral, just that the current two events over the border planned for 2020 will shared across two venues, the other being Bromborough Civic Centre which is already established on our Record Fair calendar.

RECORD FAIR
Another reasonably fast turn around and onto our next Record Fair in just over two weeks on
Saturday 27th July in Mold at the Daniel Owen Community Centre. More on this ahead of the event.
Before then...
BRING YOUR OWN VINYL NIGHT
Halcyon Dreams next visit to the Queens Head pub on the outskirts of Mold is this Friday 12th July, turntables spinning from 8pm until around midnight. Anything goes and no experience needed with Tom on hand for newcomers if needed.
MAGAZINE FEATURE...ONE SMALL STEP LITERALLY
Our shop is featured in this Months ELECTRONIC SOUND MAGAZINE on page 97 of issue 55 (Talking Shop) opposite the Stockists page. This excellent magazine which we stock on a Monthly basis covers electronic music and culture with a side order of art and technology plus in depth coverage of the contemporary scene, the pioneers, the machines, and the current thinking of the electronic music world. There are two versions, the standard magazine or Magazine bundle which comes with 7 inch single. Generally the bundle can only be purchased from a few Independent Record shops (including ours) dotted around the World or through their website. This Months edition is a special Moon landing edition with the usual array of briiliant articles covering electronic music. For this Month only we will carry a few extra copies of standard edition alongside the Bundles we already take.

Thanks for RSD
For us the build up to RSD started last December and here we are now post RSD,where did the time go? Thanks so much for such an amazing day last Saturday, the support was incredible.
From Paul the first arrival at the shop 2pm Friday...yes Friday, just the small matter of a 19 hour wait for opening time and for all those who joined the queue, It was such a cold night but the sense of community and good humour seemed to get them through it. We opened about 8.30am and Paul first in promptly found the Friels Cider hidden vinyl nabbing himself a FREE Rega turntable, what a start.Tony was next up with a FRRE crate of Friels cider. We cant stress how much YOU all being there meant to us, its more than sales its an annual coming together cementing our love for real music. Our Record Fair by all accounts was very busy and the Live Music at the venue very well received.Big thanks to Tom and Pat,Sophie and James(team VOD) for such a great job upstairs at the Daniel Owen Community Centre, i did manage to catch Trecco Beis, what a great band and thoroughly nice lads as was Ennio the Little Brother who is also one to watch with his unique style, check out Mai68 for more and info on other artists on the label. The addition of a licensed bar seemed to work well and one we may revisit in the future.
All in another day to remember, it was our 10th RSD and year on year it just gets better.
So for now A BIG, BIG THANK YOU, the success of the day is down to you not us....
Cheers-Colin
