RECORD STORE DAYS version of Black Friday is an excuse to celebrate both the releases themselves and the unique indie record stores who carry them. Cheap, mass produced frenzy is not the goal.Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving. This year Black Friday takes place on Friday, November 25th. It is an American thing with very limited amounts making it over the Pond, this means UK copies are instant collectables.Unlike RSD, Stores will launch the special releases on Black Friday but can carry them beyond Black Friday, although this will depend on interest in any paricular title. There will be markedly fewer titles during the
Black Friday period than youll find on a Record Store Day release list. By design, Record Store Day is not attempting to create the massive music celebration of Record Store Day.Rather, they are reminding music fans about the gift of music at the kick off of the holiday season.
