Apart from the later all the others are in but very limited numbers, in fact only one in some cases. To be fair, as we have so few it will be first come first served from 10.30am tomorrow Friday 23rd November. Record Store day next year will be on another level!

Record Store Day v Black Friday
Record Store Day by contrast has become huge and has a completely different feel. Lots of UK interest, an event which just grows every year. We are very pleased to be a part of it too and April 20th next year should be yet again something very special. So where does this leave Black Friday? Well for us there may be a few interesting releases arriving, but it will be just a few.As soon as anything confirmed we will post it on our site, but it does appear Black Friday looks destined to remain a special day on the other side of the pond.

Still looking at possibility of another venue for 2013....
Christmas Crackers from Fruits de mer records
On the Regal Crabomophone label, Winkle 9 - US psychedelic rockers The Luck Of Eden Hall are back with a 4-track EP, comprising two songs from their brilliant new CD 'Alligators Eat Gumdrops' along with exclusive covers of The Doors' 'Crystal Ship' and SRC's 'Black Sheep'.Classy stuff from Chicago's finest.
On Fruits de Mer, Crustacean 33 - 'The White EP' - eight tracks from The Beatles' classic double album, spread across four sides of 7" vinyl. Artists contributing exclusive tracks include The Bevis Frond, Cranium Pie, Henry Padovani, Jack Ellister, Anton Barbeau and The Pretty Things (whose version of 'Helter Skelter' has to be heard to be believed - stunning!). Gatefold white sleeve, white vinyl, sequentially-numbered.
On Fruits de Mer, Crustacean 34 - 'The League of Psychedelic Gentlemen' -a four-track 7" featuring new or previously-unreleased tracks by four cult heroes of 'new psychedelia' - Nick Nicely, Anton Barbeau, Paul Roland and The Bevis Frond, who have each gone into the studio, or delved into their archives, to come up with a track per artist for this one-off project. This ISN'T a new supergroup, each artist has contributed their own track).
On Fruits de Mer, Crustacean 35 - The Fruits de Mer 2013 Annual - This year it comprises the bizarre combination of a cover of Faust's 'Jennifer' by Russian prog band Vespero (that arrived too late for the 'Head Music' compilation) with a new version of 'Pegasus' by Temple Music that's a wholly unrepresentative taster for The Hollies album I'll be releasing in early 2013. The combination sounds ridiculous, but you've never heard The Hollies like this before and somehow they fit together.
The three 7" singles will each be produced in two colours of vinyl, while The White EP double 7" will be white vinyl

Latest vinyl and brand new album by - San Diego maestros ASTRA who craft expansive suites that hearken back to the original root of mind-expanding, unrestrained and genuinely progressive rock. Rich with hallucinogenic and hypnotic promise, and slathered in layers of vintage, billowing instrumentation, the band's stunning sophomore album, The Black Chord, expertly evokes the spirit, tone and vision of '70s cosmic prog, the artworks not bad either! TREES live album now arrived too!

New album chart
The Official Charts Company has teamed up with Record Store Day to launch a brand new chart reflecting sales through the UK’s coolest and most vibrant independent record shops.
The new albums chart will reflect the cutting edge music purchased through independent record stores the length and breadth of the UK. Counting solely physical sales, the very first chart will be unveiled at 5pm this Friday, April 20 at www.officialcharts.com and counted down on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6Music show between 5-6pm, as part of the 2012 Record Store Day celebrations. Beyond this, the new weekly chart will be revealed at 7pm every Sunday at www.officialcharts.com.
The Official Record Store Chart will reflect sales of albums from the just approaching 100 independent record retailers right across the country who participate in Record Store Day UK, including pioneering shops such as Rough Trade, Eastern Bloc, Rounder Records, Rise, Jumbo, Sound It Out and Avalanche. Record Store Day this year runs on Saturday 21 April.

RSD Press release
It is just four weeks to go to the annual celebrations taking place this year on Saturday April 21. Already a record 206 stores have signed up – 197 in the UK and nine in Ireland.
The initial list of over 350 exclusive Record Store Day releases was also unveiled at the event.
Record Store Day UK coordinator Spencer Hickman said, “The support of artists and labels and music fans for this annual celebration of the indie record shop has been amazing and is really appreciated. To have PiL and Orbital play at our launch is not only a real honour, but it’s a sign of how much Record Store Day has developed.”
Hickman brought the RSD concept of exclusive releases sold only for one day through indie record shops to the UK four years ago. Last year around 180 stores took part. There were around 250 exclusive releases only available in participating stores, more than double the previous year’s tally and more than 200 artists and bands played in record stores around the country.
Many stores had queues hundreds deep when they opened on last year’s Record Store Day. Some were still operating a “one-in-one-out” policy late into the afternoon.
“Record Store Day has now become an established part of the music calendar,” said Hickman. “And what makes it special is the character and individuality of record stores. There’s nothing to beat the enthusiasm and atmosphere of a great record shop. The reason great indie stores succeed is that they love music as much as their customers do. Record Store Day is like one huge festival taking place in every part of the UK. It’s primarily about the record stores and the events, not just the products available”
In what he described as a John Rotten Roll, John Lydon said in support of Record Store Day, “The destruction of the music industry is because people can't buy records easily. A record is for life. A download is a lack of life. A poor substitute for a real wife!"
Paul Hartnoll from Orbital said, “It’s a privilege to be asked to be involved and to promote local record stores up and down the country.”
Record Store Day is sponsored by the Entertainment Retailers Association. Director General Kim Bayley said, “However big and glossy and commercialised the entertainment business becomes, it is vital that we support the grassroots stores who day-in, day-out give their support to new talent.”
Paul Quirk Chairman of ERA added “As Chairman of ERA and a music retailer I have to say for me Record Store Day is the most exciting event of the whole year. I cannot believe how it has grown over the last few years and also how the retailers and the public have embraced it. Each year it moves up another level and I am sure 2012 will be the best ever”.
RSD unleashed
Just to be part of this event is a huge privelige and we intend to enjoy the occassion and fly the flag for Independents despite probably being the smallest Worldwide participator!
